I officially started Reel Perfections in May of 2006, however, the seed was planted in 2000. In August of 1999, I enrolled at Virginia Tech to pursue a degree in Communications. My original intent was to pursue a career in radio, but after taking one video production class, I was hooked.

I took every course possible to learn the art of videography. In December of 2002 I graduated with my degree and it was time to find a job. Not content to look for a job in television news, I decided to stay on at the call center while looking for a way to use my passion for video production.

In 2003 a relative was getting married and wanted a video to preserve her day. I borrowed the video equipment and put my talent to work. With a three camera setup ready to go and many spare hours after the wedding I created my first production.

Still not really sure where to go or what to do, I continued my job in the call center while waiting for more opportunities. In 2006 it finally happened. Everyone around me was getting married and my mother, Dianna Allen, retired from her job of 25 years and opened her own photography studio (Digital Perfections Photography). I decided the time was right and now, using the skills I learned at Virginia Tech and my passion for video production, Reel Perfections is a reality.

Reel Perfections serves the New River Valley and surrounding areas.
